Welcome :)

Hi, I’m Elena.

I’m a marketer, content creator, amateur hockey player, and someone who’s always had a lot of thoughts about life, growth, and the weird ways we all try to figure things out.

I work in London, but live in the Midlands in the countryside, and spend most of my days working in social media, creating content, and occasionally going a bit viral on TikTok posting hockey videos. It started as a bit of fun and somehow turned into thousands of people watching my chaotic hockey journey online.

Outside of work and content, I’m someone who loves long walks, good books (Brianna Wiest is always nearby), lifting weights, and finding new coffee spots.

Like a lot of people, I’ve had my own challenges along the way. In my teens I struggled with an eating disorder, which shaped a big part of my relationship with control, perfectionism, and self-worth. Recovery taught me a lot about letting go of those things and learning how to live a little more freely.

It’s a part of my story, but it’s not the whole story.

These days I’m much more interested in the bigger picture: growing as a person, building things online, and figuring life out one slightly chaotic step at a time.

What I do.

By day, I work in paid social media marketing, building campaigns and strategies for major brands. Before that I worked across organic social, influencer marketing, and content creation in industries like fitness, wellness, and beauty, basically anything that lives on the internet.

Alongside my full-time role, I also run my freelance business Social Media by El, where I help small businesses and creators grow their online presence through strategy, content, and social media management. I love the mix of creativity and strategy, building communities, telling stories, and creating content that actually connects with people.

What About Pepetoe?

Pepetoe is the blog that started it all.

What began as a personal space to write about recovery and life slowly grew into a place for honest conversations about wellness, growth, relationships, mental health, and the messy reality of being human.

It’s never been about perfection or having the answers. It’s more like sitting down with someone who gets it. A bit like catching up with a long-lost friend over an oat vanilla latte.

The name Pepetoe might not be the website anymore, but the spirit of it is still here.

This space is still about honesty, growth, and figuring life out together, one story at a time.

And for those who weren’t around before Pepetoe? You might want to know it’s pronounced “peh-peh-toe”, not “peep-toe” or “pepe-toe”. Trust me, more people have got it wrong than right! And it’s a nickname my dad used to call me as a little girl… and still has me saved in his phone as “Pepetoe Overfield” too :)
